Bournemouth University Spring Fashion Show

Last week we had the pleasure of being involved in the Bournemouth University Spring Fashion Show organised by the African & Caribbean Society, Nigerian Society & South African Society.

It was an intimate event held at the Old Firestation on Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth showcasing local designers of African heritage and bringing the community together. The show also raised money and awareness for Sickle Cell disease.

The show was hosted by Rauni and featured fantastic poetic interludes by Storm; featuring the highly controversial yet thought provoking 'Men are Trash'.

Three different clothing brands were showcased alongside the Wakanda collection of traditional African wear; inspired by the Black Panther movie and traditional African culture.

The brands were:

Ages Apparel

DJM (Don't Judge Me) Clothing

New Creation

Here are some catwalk highlights:

We've got plenty more photos, so if you'd like to see more please let us know and we can send them to you!

I'd like to give a shout out to the Old Firestation as a venue which often gets involved with small businesses and community events. Without a venue like this events like these can't be held so I'd like to give a big thank you to them.
