Photos Of The Month #2

Hello African photography lovers!

It's that time again, so let's not waste any time and dive into the best photos from last month!

1 -  Safety by beverlyjoubert for nat geo

This is a rhino with a story. His horn is covered in green scrapes - paint residue from a custom-made container that carried him out of a poaching hot spot in South Africa to relative safety in Botswana. Accompanied by vast security detail, he has traveled by plane, truck and helicopter to reach this new home.

2 - Mid Meal by @suhaderbent

This cheetah has been caught tucking into it's dinner. In general, the diet of the cheetah consists of gazelle, wildebeest calves, impalas, and smaller hoofed animals in its habitat. Furthermore, cheetah may eat rabbits, birds, hares, antelopes, and warthogs. Since water can be very scarce in its native land, cheetahs have the ability to survive with just one drink every three or four days. *info from conservationinstitute.org

3 - Embrace by Dr. Trix Jonker

Pumba and Simba hugging after being reunited!... Not really, this warthog looks like dinner. We love this photo, such movement, you can really see the intensity and struggle of life and death. This was our most popular photo from @african.inspired on Instagram this month and it's easy to see why!

4 - Living Side By Side from @franslanting

What's great about this photo is that the more you look, the more you see! The massive elephant captures your attention in the foreground, then you notice the giraffe, a herd of zebra and even a random ostrich on the right! We love it!

5 - Yawn by @dr_m_alkandari

We've all felt like this in the morning. Nothing a big old fashioned yawn can't sort out! We love the detail of this shot, from the wrinkles on her forehead, those perfect teeth, to the barbs on her tongue, it's great!
